Cala Murada: breathtakingly Mediterranean Mallorca
Icon Valparaíso by Petit Palace
There are still places that preserve their essence without making noise. Cala Murada is one of them. On the east coast of Mallorca, the Mediterranean suddenly becomes bluer and pine forests reach almost to the sea. Here, Mallorca shows itself more natural and friendly, more connected to you. An afternoon of sun and salt is enough to prove it. Because true Mallorca needs no filters or likes: just your time to enjoy it as you wish.
Cala Murada is a quiet beach of golden sands, surrounded by cliffs and crystal-clear water that invites swimming and snorkeling. It is ideal for families and has many services such as showers, lifeguards, and a walkway for disabled persons. It also has bars and beach shacks very close to the beach. An excellent option for those looking to disconnect and discover the more serene side of the island. And it has parking.
Cala Es Domingos Grans i Petits are two sister beaches separated by a rocky outcrop. Both have a sandy bottom with turquoise waters and very shallow depth, ideal for swimming and snorkeling. It has many amenities, lifeguard service, and several restaurants nearby. And for water sports lovers, there is a marked area for kayaking, sailing, or paddle surfing.
Among virgin coves, forests, wetlands, and trails lies the Mondragó Natural Park, a protected area where you can discover all the natural wealth of Mallorca. The park allows visitors to undertake numerous itineraries both on foot and by bicycle, and also offers a guided tour service. It is open all year round and has ample parking, recreational areas, restrooms, playgrounds, and picnic areas.
Visiting the Castell de Santueri is like traveling back in time. This medieval fortress, located on a mountain 423 meters high, is one of the most emblematic castles in Mallorca. It retains part of its walls, defensive towers, and offers spectacular views of the eastern coast of the island. It can be visited every day from 10:30 to 18:00 between the months of April and October.
Sa Cova Foradada is a highly recommended stop for those visiting Portocolom. A short trail among rocks leads to this singular rock formation, sculpted by the erosion of the sea over thousands of years and which serves as a window framing the sky, the Mediterranean Sea, and the famous lighthouse of Portocolom. A spectacular corner for nature lovers and the most authentic coastal landscapes.
With a tradition dating back to 1945, Bodega Barahona - Casa Manolo is a family restaurant located in the heart of Ses Salines specializing in fresh local fish and seafood from Galicia. The third generation of this family runs a very cozy establishment where simple dishes are made with flavor as the star. Their grilled seafood, rice dishes, and squid are particularly noteworthy.
