The beaches of Malaga are one of the most lively places during these summer months. As a coastal city, Malaga has a wide offer of beaches where to shelter from the hot days of summer and enjoy a refreshing bath. And the plan improves if you can practise some activity or water sport by the sea.
In most of the beaches of the province of Malaga you can practice different water sports for all tastes. In fact, in the coastal areas of the capital the visitor can enjoy a diving, sailing, fishing, windsurfing or surfing day or even rent a boat for a sea ride.
If you are a diving lover, we recommend you visit beaches like the Peñón del Cuervo, where you will discover the marvels of the deep sea of Malaga without leaving the capital. Besides, you will be able to access some of the diving schools in Malaga that organise excursions or diving introductory courses for novices.
Another of the options that allow you to enjoy the coast of Malaga is a fishing day. Apart from the Peñón del Cuervo beach, we also recommend you visit La Caleta beach, Baños del Carmen or la Misericordia beaches.
The last one, La Misericordia beach, is a perfect place for the practice of other water sports like sailing, windsurfing or surfing. It is located between the mouth of the river Guadalhorce and the breakwater of La Térmica. It is one of the largest beaches of Malaga and it is quite wide, which makes it perfect for practising sports on the sand.
If you love winter water sports, the Guadalmar beach, located in the area known as San Julian beach, is a good area. On windy days this beach is crowded with the kites of the kitesurfers.
Either you are one of those who need to practise an activity on the beach or you prefer to relax sunbathing on the sand, we recommend you visit some of the fabulous beaches of Malaga and discover everything its coast can offer to you.
And if you want to enjoy a pleasant stay in Malaga, we suggest you stay in the Petit Palace Plaza Malaga Hotel, from where you will have an easy access to some of the main tourist attractions in the city, like the Constitution square or the Marqués de Larios street.
