With Easter Week just around the corner, in Seville you can already feel the special atmosphere.   This city is strongly aligned with this religious festival where thousands of locals demonstrate their devotion by following the traditional processions through the streets that are impregnated with this impressive air of solemnity, even though it has been seen many times before.

In the Hotel Petit Palace Santa Cruz of Seville during these dates everything is very intense. Our establishment has an outstanding position that allows you to be a privileged spectator of two of the most important processions in the city, which pass by the hotel entrance in Via Crucis. This Latin expression means “way of the cross” and reminds us of the suffering that Christ endured during his journey to his crucifixion.

The first of these processions took place on 20th February when the Brotherhood of Candelaria, left their headquarters just in front of the hotel Petit Palace Santa Cruz, in “Via Crucis” throughout the neighbourhood, demonstrating the enormous passion experienced in Seville.

The second of these processions had as the protagonist, the Holy Christ of Humility and Patience of the Brotherhood of the Holy Supper. This procession was on 23rd February, the first Monday of Lent. This Brotherhood, which we had the honour of being able to watch from the front row, was chosen by the Council of Fraternities and Guilds of the city to undertake the “Via Crucis” in the Holy Cathedral this year. The Christ of Humility was venerated by hundreds of people along the route and particularly at the presentations at the temples during the journey.

Needless to say that from Andalucia the Via Crucis extended throughout the West and from Seville to the whole of Spanish America. In Petit Palace, Easter Week in Seville is lived intensively thanks to the unequalled location of the three hotels in our city, Petit Palace Marques Santa Ana, Petit Palace Santa Cruz and Petit Palace Canalejas.

At them one can enjoy the distinct and special atmosphere of this unique week, where one can live an unforgettable experience due to the proximity and the fact that the majority of the processions pass nearby to the hotels. In fact from the Petit Palace Santa Cruz one can enjoy these brotherhoods from the hotel room.
