Faithful to its yearly meeting and stronger than ever, returns one of Spain’s most popular festivals: BBK Live, is just counting the hours for the start. An internationally renown festival, it has managed to position the city of Bilbao as one of Europe’s top cities for musical events. The festival returns stronger than ever so mark off on your calendar in red the 9th,10th and 11th July.
Due to the magnitude of the event, it is advisable to follow some survival tricks because although the musical days are great fun they are also intense and exhausting so we will give you some advise on how to survive and reach the end of the festival in good shape.
Apart from leaving your sandals at home (in order to opt for comfort and to avoid being painfully trampled on), don’t forget the suntan lotion and your inseparable Borsalino hat. Another detail you should not forget is that Bilbao is in the north and the evenings are cool; therefore due to the fact that the concerts finish very late, don’t forget to pack a jacket or jumper.
In order to have your things well organized and so that you do not need to ask for space in others pockets, you should take a good back pack. You will be more equilibrated and also you will emulate the fashionable festival-goers.
Look after your access bracelet and don’t forget that apart from dancing and singing you must also eat well. Where are the best areas? They are near to the camping area and you will find all you need at a good price.
Once you have everything prepared, what can you expect from the festival? This edition 2015 promises to be really special for the fans of BBK Live because the festival celebrates its first 10 years of history and the concerts include such pop folk groups as Mumford and Sons or Counting Crows, The Jesus and Mary Chain and the Spanish group Arizona Baby.
For rockers, the highlight comes with four letters: MUSE. This English group will be there on the last day of BBK Live to present their new record in our country. The same day other heavy weights will also be on stage such as The Ting Tings or Kodaline.
As with all festivals it is important to have everything organized especially accommodation. Although many people decide to camp during the festival, we propose that you use your free time to relax at one of our Petit Palace hotels in Bilbao, for example the Petit Palace Arana Bilbao. At this location and in your free time between concerts, you can take advantage and visit emblematic places such as la Ria in the city or the impressive Guggenheim Museum.
