If there is something we like about spring it is the sensation of being able to live more than ever sheltered from the sun, with mild temperatures, with all that is pure and exquisite of nature. To enjoy these outdoor plans with your partner, with friends or family is one of the good customs that we continue to maintain, above all in the south of the country.

When the good weather arrives, in the provincial capitals such as Seville and Malaga, the plans are outdoors and always with the best gastronomy. What is the dish that is never missing during this time of scorching sun? Exactly, the sardine skewers, delicious on the palate and a gastronomic must for this new spring-summer season, that should not be missed if you have chosen the Hotel Petit Palace Plaza Malaga.

Made with a base of fresh sardines recently caught or bought at the fish market, the skewers are an authentic delight, available at all local restaurants and beach bars (we are talking about summer’s star dish). Although this appears to be a simple recipe, various sardines on skewers are placed on the fire, however, everything depends on the skills of placing them on the grill and how the embers are stoked and adequately orientated (so the sardines do not burn).

A good option is to try this dish at some of the many places you will encounter during your strolls around Malaga and it is true that there are meccas of this product that really should not be missed.

  1. Casa Juan sardine skewers: A few metres from Huelin Park there is this open air restaurant that is famous for the best sardine kebabs in Malaga. Important information to bear in mind? Remember to book a table at the weekend because it is ideal for family reunions and very popular.
  1. El Chiringuito Servando: Very near to Guadalmar beach you will find the Chiringuito Servando, very popular because of the special golden touch they give to the sardine skewers. Regarding design it is very avant-garde, the perfect place to treat yourself to a good gastronomic tribute made in Malaga in good company.
  1. Andrés Maricuchi Restaurant: Authentic with excellent sea food, the Andrés Maricuchi Restaurant, is one of the most well known along the whole of the Malaga coast line. Although it is not cheap (the price per person is not normally less than 20 euros per person) it is one of the best and highly recommended.
