One of the things we like most about summer is the calm attitude with which we pass the day. Summer is the time to improvise, anything goes, everything feels good… Yes, even eating in the shade of a welcoming park. A plan that is particularly charming in Malaga and can be enjoyed alone, with a partner, with friends or family.

Considered one of the most beautiful cities in Andalusia, Malaga is characterized for its parks, full of life where you can take a stroll, rest or have a family picnic… An ideal alternative when you decide to stop for a well deserved rest after various hours of tourism in the city. Have you decided that Malaga will be your holiday city? Please take note that near to our hotel Petit Palace Plaza Malaga you will find various parks where you can enjoy a picnic with the family.

  1. Malaga Park: This is Malaga’s official park (hence the name) and it can be found between the streets of “Alameda Principal”, “Paseo de España” and the “Muelle de Guadiaro”. Although on foot it is relatively near, ideally you can cycle there. How about using one of the many bicycles that we have at your disposal. Our hotel offers bicycles free of charge. More than 800 metres long, the park is full of benches where you can rest or have your welcome mid morning picnic. The perfect place for the youngest children of the family because the park is a long way from the road.
  1. Gardens of the Dark Gate: With a name that dates back from the Arabian past of the city, the Gardens of the Dark Gate, are another place that are well worth a visit when travelling with children. Also, we would point out that it can be very hot at midday so there is nothing better than to enjoy breakfast at the Petit Palace Plaza and shortly after visit the gardens before the sun is too high.
  1. Montes de Malaga Natural Park: What do you think about enjoying with your family and kids, a picnic with views at less than 5 kilometres from Malaga? If this option seduces you then your destination is Montes de Malaga Park. A nature reserve of nearly 5,000 hectare with unique hiking routes where you can enjoy a picnic in the open air and with the calmness that a session of contact with nature provides.
