If you are on tour around Malaga, you must visit Marqués de Larios Street, the most important commercial street in the city and one of the most lively areas. It is a perfect plan for a shopping day, for having a drink in some of the cafeterias and restaurants of the surroundings and for a leisure night.
This street, known by the locals as Larios street, is named after Manuel Domingo Larios y Larios, the II marquis of Larios, who was one of the forefathers of the textile industry in Malaga.
Larios street goes from the Constitution square to the main Alameda. 300 metres full of shops, among which we can find the most popular franchises and some of the finest and most exclusive brands, together with different cafeterias and ice-cream shops ideal for having a drink. The rest of streets are full of restaurants and taverns where to savour fabulous Andalusian tapas or the famous sweet wines of Malaga.
In any case, a walk around Larios street is always a good plan. It is a pedestrian and large street and its buildings are very well-cared. In summer the street is covered with canopies for sheltering walkers from the extreme high temperatures of Malaga.
At sunset, the surroundings of Larios street become one of the liveliest areas of the city. In the city of Malaga one can find some of the best taverns, like the famous El Pimpi cellar, a very traditional and emblematic place with a good atmosphere.
Besides, in the old town of Malaga we also find some of the in style pubs where to have the first drinks of the night and enjoy the best night atmosphere of Malaga. And if you want to party more, you can still visit some of the discos in the city centre or in the suburbs.
If you want to enjoy a pleasant experience in Malaga we recommend you stay in the Petit Palace Plaza Malaga Hotel, an oasis of comfort located at the heart of Malaga.
