The countdown has started. Thousands of people are already counting the days until the start of the music festival with probably the greatest impact in Europe: the Sónar 2015 in Barcelona, the international advanced music and new media art festival. Three days of intense emotions awaken by the best electronic music of the current scene, as well as by mixing it with the innovative artistic and audiovisual offer. Three days for dancing, enjoying, experiencing and opening your senses to this profusion of feelings that this festival always arouses.
The Sónar 2015 will be held on the 18, 19 and 20 of June in Barcelona. The festival will count on different locations, even if two key places will be the main points of reference for the events: the Exhibition of Montjuïc for the Sónar de Día (during the day) and the Exhibition of Barcelona for the Sónar de Noche (during the night). For the Sónar de Día a wide range of activities is scheduled and they combine the electronic trends with the experimentation, the creativity and technology in order to offer new audiovisual artistic forms.
However, the highlight of the festival will be with no doubts the Sónar de Noche, when the most important concerts will be performed and the great attractions of the event will go on stage. The Chemical Brothers are one of the indisputable headliners and you will see them with their powerful live concert on Saturday, when they will present their last work ‘Born in the Echoes’ that promises to be, as always, a real audiovisual show.
Before this, on Thursday, artists such as Hot Chip, Autechre, Arca & Jesse Kanda, Kindness, Double Vision: Atom TM+Robin Fox, Felix Dickinson or kasper bjørke, among others will open the festival in the Sónar de Día. On Friday there will be other headliners such as Skrillex, Róisin Murphy, Die Antwoord, A$AP Rocky, Jamie XX or Totally Enormous Extinct Dinossaurs, that will be performing in the Sónar de Noche.
On Saturday, Barcelona will vibrate again with the outbreak in the Sónar de Noche of other relevant artists of the international electronic scene, such as Duran Duran, Laurent Garnier, Dubfire: Live Hybrid, Jamie Jones, Eros Alkan or Adam Beyer, among others. Fernando Lagreca, Noir Noir, CaboSanRoque or Viktor Flores stand out as national artists.
If you do not want to miss the Sónar 2015, do not waste too much time and come to Barcelona to live this unique experience. If you need an accommodation, we recommend you to stay at one of the Petit Palace Hotels in Barcelona, where you will enjoy the comfort of its structures, very close to the main attractions of the city such as the MACBA or the famous Mercado de la Boquería.
