It is one thing to talk about the summer heat and another very different thing is to refer to the Sevillian heat during the month of August. No, it is not a fake that image you see on your social networks in which a thermometer appears at 53 degrees… Seville in August is exactly like this.
However, unlike what you would think, the months of July and August are also those with the highest percentage of tourism. The routes through the historic centre, boat trips on the Guadalquivir and visits to the stages where films and series have been shot (such as The Kingdom of Heaven or Game of Thrones) are some of the things to do that make Seville (even in the stifling heat) a tourist destination of the highest quality.
With the destination decided and the perfect accommodation organised (we always recommend ours in the historical centre such as Petit Palace Santa Cruz, Petit Palace Marqués Santa Ana and Petit Palace Canalejas Seville), you have to plan everything you are going to do during your free days in the capital of Seville and of course, your sports sessions cannot be forgotten. The problem? The heat. The solution? Move on to the local indoor sports trend. This month we give you some options of places to do so:
A morning of Indoor Paddle
Padel in Seville leaves its outdoors courts and moves indoors to provide protection from the sun, ideal for those who do not want to stop playing their daily or weekly matches. Infinity Indoor Sevilla presents itself as one of the best options for lovers of this sport (yes, you).
Although located in the neighbouring town of Dos Hermanas (about 15 kilometres from Seville) there is nothing to worry about as Seville has a really good network of trains and buses that will take you to the place in question in much less time than you think .
Swimming, the best sport for the Sevillian heat
The idea of fleeing the heat of Seville with a swimming session in an authentic Olympic swimming pool is another of those ideas that fit wonderfully into your holiday planning in the south of the country. Although there are many sports centres in Seville that offer day passes for those who want to enjoy 2 or 3 swimming sessions, our recommendation is Galisport.
This centre has two high quality headquarters (one in the neighbourhood of El Porvenir and another in Triana). The best? The quality of its swimming pools and the professionalism of its staff.
